For over 40 years, Tempe Sister Cities has been hosting the annual Oktoberfest celebration
Oktoberfest is a FREE, three-day outdoor festival currently held at Tempe Town Lake.
Orignially started as a way to honor our Bavarian Sister City of Regensburg, Germany, Oktoberfest now draws crowds of 200,000 who enjoy this volunteer-produced event.
Look at all these activities!
In addition to the beer and wine gardens for the grown-ups, Tempe Oktoberfest also has non-stop Polka, a 5k/5mi race, a German shoppe, and food, food, food!
Oktoberfest is held during the first or second week of October and has been the source of funding for almost 700 student exchange participants since the early 1970s.
